In February 2013 I started the collaboration with familytreedna.com from Houston, TX.
Beginning with May 2017 I also used Myheritage DNA tests - same Houston laboratory.
My best experience is with FTDNA.
When I am interested about Y-DNA and mtDNA this is my option.
For autosomal tests I use both FTDNA and myheritage.
I also import the myheritage result in FTDNA.
Results after 7 years, my daughter Antonia Anastasia in the center. Paternal left, maternal right:
My 8th cousin 1R from Csik Csatoszeg with ancestors since 1700 has R-M198.
Unchanged family name !
The same haplogroup has the husband of the daughter of my wife with roots from Felek, Szeben.
The second cousin of my father with Serbian roots has also R-M198.
My second cousin from a village with Erdely settlers close to Bucharest has also R-M198.
My father in law from Szekelyhidas (Aranyos) and his cousin with different father lines
have J-M172.
My mother's in law cousin from Bredest (Also-Feher) has also J-M172.
A neighbour from Olah Lapad has also J-M172.
A friend from Thesaloniki, Greece, has J-M172.
My mother's second cousin with father's line from Vienna has J-M172.
All labeled "Jewish" at first sight by the people who interacted with them.
Blonde with light blue eyes.
An uncle from US with roots in Iglau, Moravia, whose ancestor b. 1819 was the brother of my ancestor (his sister), has N-M231.
A neighbour from Livadz, Macedonia, Greece, has I-M170. Aromanian, probably from Moscopole.
A friend from Maros Ujvar, Also-Feher, has I-P37.
My nephew, son of my cousin, son of my father's sister, has also I-P37.
The uncle of my wife's daughter from Kalbor has I-M223.
My mother's in law uncle Gencz, Gentz, Gencs from Magyarkec, Margitta, Bihar has E-M35.
My mother's cousin with roots from Ilok, Szerem, Slavonia, has E-M35.
A professor and former colleague from Leleasca, OLT county, has E-M35.
These is a South-West Balkan haplogroup. All stubborn people !
Me, another first cousin of my mother, an Aromanian from Greece, a third cousin with
Aromanian roots and a friend from Severin (Szoreny) have R-M269. Celtic haplogroup.
As mtDNA we have H, K1b1, W3b, X2e1b.
I have U2e2a1a1 from Iglau, Moravia and there is nobody from the extended family who can give this group to the offspring.
This is from Dorothea Politzer, about 300 years ago...
My R-M269 is from OLT river. I have pairs in Csik Madaras and Danfalva. My ancestor was shepherd and settled in a village close to Bucharest.
Neighbour with the other village known as Erdely settlers village.
Most of 16 great-great-grandparents of my daughter were Austrian-Hungarian citizens.
I used the 19th century names of the places and counties for this reason.
I made an Y-DNA and mtDNA map for her.
I know the haplogroups of 13 from 16.
2 are still missing because the lack of documents.
1 is the Greek branch, no descendant on mtDNA. Probably I'll take a sample and send to a forensic
laboratory. There is a guy in Greece who seems to be from the family, I visited him but unfortunately
I didn't have a DNA test at me. Now it is difficult to do this because he is afraid of "something".
In 3 years I tested 99 persons, about 1/3 from the family.
Until now no great discovery...
